Akhir akhir ini selalu cakap pasal kepentingan ilmu.

Ilmu tanpa amal, seperti pokok tanpa buah.

Quick test: siapa yang tahu translation arab die, sila tinggalkan komen ye!

Ini adalah sesuatu yang kita dengar. Sesuatu yang kita selalu cakap apabila berbincang pasal ilmu. Sekarang mari kita lihat daripada sudut yang lain.

Cuba bayangkan tika kita ingin menunaikan solat sunat yang tidak pernah dilakukan, tanpa ilmu kita harus merujuk kepada internet ataupun kawan-kawan ataupun scholar. Susunan sumber ini berdasarkan pengalaman sendiri.

Cuba kita bayangkan kalau kita ingin membaca doa saranan Nabi Muhammad s.a.w, seperti yang banyak terdapat dalam Al-quran. Kalau kita tak hafal doa itu, then setiap kali ingin membaca kena rujuk laptop, ipod, buku dan sebagainya? Susunan juga mengikut pengalaman penulis.

Cuba bayangkan tika kita ingin ingin mengimamkan solat jenazah ahli keluarga sendiri, tetapi ilmu itu tiada. Mampukah kita menghafal bacaan-bacaan itu ketika mereka sedang dimandikan? Dimana mungkin mata kita berlinang air mata. Terkesan dengan video ini --> {Anak asset ke syurga ke neraka?}

dan macam macam situasi yang kita rasa ilmu itu TIDAK PERLU kerana amal itu JARANG-JARANG diperlukan.

I don't think I bring the idea well enough, but to make it short..
1. Kita mestilah sentiasa belajar perkara wajib dan perkara sunat didalam Islam. Walaupun kita mungkin tidak menggunakannya sekalipun.

2. Jangan memikirkan bahawa ilmu yang tiada kaitan dengan kita itu adalah worthless. Belajar sebanyak mana mungkin Ilmu di dunia dan ajarkanlah ia kepada orang lain. Jikalau kita mengajar ilmu yang bermanfaat, ia umpana setitik air jatuh diatas sehamparan air yang tenang. Gelombangnya meliputi keseluruhan permukaan.

3. Tanam azam untuk mengendalikan jenazah ahli keluarga sendiri. Jika tidak mampu mandikan, mungkin boleh tolong kafankan, jika tidak reti juga, mungkin boleh imamkan solatnya, jika tidak reti juga, mungkin paling kurang bawa turun jenazahnya. InsyaAllah.

4. Tidak semestinya ilmu yang dipelajari itu perlu diamal immediately. Dulu belajar ilmu seni dekat sekolah, ada sampai sekarang kita duduk melukis? Ilmu yang dipelajari itu meningkatkan pengalaman, mematangkan fikiran.

5. Cara paling senang jika tak tahu ilmu apa yang patut dipelajari. Panggil seorang kawan dan tanya dia "Bagitahu aku sesuatu yang engkau tahu tetapi aku tidak tahu". Seperti contoh, kawan kita jawab dia hafal surah sekian-sekian, jadi kita bolehlah start menghafal surah itu. Tapi kalau tidak mampu janganlah paksa diri pulak! xD

6. Cara kedua: tengok kawan yang rasa hebat sikit, jadikan sebagai bench mark, dan terus berusaha nak kalahkan dia. Persaingan sihat gitu.

InsyaAllah, with Allah blessing, a year had passed. Withthat, its means we are one year away from the Dunya, and a year nearer to theDeath. Allah says, “Every soul shall taste death”. This is our ultimatedestiny, a fate that certainly will come to every single soul, on time. As thetime passed by, we shall reflect ourselves on things that we had experienced.All the experiences are wasted if we still on the same spot a year ago.

In school, we learn the lesson and get tested, but in life,we get tested and learn the lesson

Looking back the past, so many things had happened over the year.When I tried to remember it again, the series of event was the best sequencethat I can ever imagine. Subhanallah. Let us start the highlight of my 2011.

January!

This month is when I was working so hard to collect themoney for Europe. Waking up every day early in the morning, sometimes at 4.30am for work somehow proved to me that everything is possible. You just have tohave courage and goals to do those. The ski seasons also started this month,and we go ski every week! I miss that moment! This year might not be as muchski trips as last years, and also without Jaei and Hussin. Oh wait, Chotadmitted to hospital because of concussion on the first day of class also shouldbe noted! Haha.

February!

This month was a long month. I got terminated from one joband quit another one. It kinda hard to lose half of my income in a month, withthe fact that Eurotrip already been planned. I survived the month though. Next,we won GU unification for the second time. It was a great performance yo!

March!

I bought a new car, and the car broke down about two weekslater. That was a hard time, but with great friends around, I can get throughthose. Anyway, the car just play hide and seek. After I abandoned the car fortwo weeks, it run perfectly. Maybe Allah just wants to test us.

April!

Malaysian Night! It was an awesome night. After struggling andgo through conflicts, we made it! And we got a standing ovation at the end ofthe show. Thanks for those who came. The ski season also ended in this month.It’s kinda late for the year, but it bought me more time to play ski lastseason!

May!

That almost the end of the academic year, which means, thesenior are gonna get back for good soon! We threw them a graduation night andit was a memorable night indeed. You guys are awesome! Then we went to Midwestin Wisconsin, and Budu Sedak lost all the matches! That’s fine, lets try itagain.

June!

This month, I lost my car again! I tried not to think aboutit again anyway. And finally the Eurotrips had come! It was a memorable tripwith Nad and her parents, As, and Sha. Not to forget Canada and Newcastle Teams.We went to 8 countries in about 20 days. Its teaches me a lot, and cost a lottoo. However it is worth it though.

July!

I was in Paris on my birthday! Then thanks for a “6/14 slices”cake from Nad, As and Sha! I went back to Malaysia and start working as usual.I became a Facilitator for a program in my high school and from that event, I canreflect myself 4 years back and who am I right now. At least I can feel that I’mgrowing up.

Europe!!

August!

Nothing much happened. It was fasting month for us, Muslim.And we celebrated Eid on the 31^st. I had such a great time duringthe Eid. It was a big celebration. And I just found out I was in 24^thcousins out of almost 60 in my father’s side. Now imagine how chaotic our Eidwas?

September!

I had an injury on the first day on September. I tare myligament and going back to the State with crutches. Oh I ask for wheelchair inJFK too! Nothing much had happened. Fall quarter started and the subjects wereawesome. I like those.

October!

We bought a new car and hopefully my last car for the restof the study here in RIT. Nothingremarkable happened in the month though.

November!

I end the Fall quarter with flying colors! Thanks to Allah.Fall roadtrip to Boston was also awesome. I had ‘great time’ spending my money duringBlack Friday! It was a nice way to end the Fall seasons.

December!

I started my December with Mara’s Talk in Penn State. The talkis not thing that I want to mention about, but the Broomball game in one of thenight was awesome! I hope RIT do have broomball. The winter quarter started for3 weeks and stopped for break! And now here am I in San Francisco on the New Year’sEve. Muktamar in Las Vegas and roadtrip for a week, FTW!! Updates are availablesoon!

Challenges Updated

I know I abandoned this blog for a very long time. I just did not have the courage anymore. Too much thing going on, maybe.
When I feel ready to close this 2011 books and start to have a new book written, it just did not happen. Allah add another challenges to be written in the 2011 book. It's somehow is heartbreaking, but I believe that it is still in my capabilities. That is Allah's promise.
On the bright side, this challenges that had come and that is coming are the one that make me stronger.
Thanks to a friend that had wake me up from a deep sleep. You opened my eyes, bro! You wake me up at the right time. I just can't thanks you enough. Do tell me if I stray again.
Maybe I just 'lagho' to much before and keep denying the future. Thanks again, friend.
I already set a goal. This is a long lasting objective that need consistent effort! O Allah, help me in this!
I remembered a verse describe about how can you say you believe, even though you are not tested yet.
I might not be strong enough to calm down when something happened, but deep inside, I hope I do. The rage is just can't be control fully yet.
I am not sigh-ing for the challenges. Things happen for a reason.
Life decision is hard. I just found one solution for this. Set an objective, and whatever you do, make sure that it benefits you toward the objective. You'll find the way. InsyaAllah.
I really hope that 'istiqamah' will follow me with this. The end is still unclear, but the light is there. If it is not the expected one, I accept it. But who is me to expect and decide. Pray for it though.

Fall rant..

It's been quite a while since the last post. Sometimes, I did forget that I has this blog. Anyway, lets rant!

1. Fall 2011 is near its end. There are so many things happening around, and the time passed by faster and faster. School work, jobs, clubs, and friends keep me busy for the past 10 weeks. It fun though.

2. The knee are getting better. Ok it's a lie. The ligament will not grow back by itself. I am thinking about operation in the US, but still consider many other things.

3. Did I tell you that I've been in the best class ever in RIT? It's fun and impressive sometimes. Learn about the genetics behind diseases and the ethic and psychology to be a medical officer. I just meet a doctor this morning, and I can see that all those thing being applied.

4. I also don't see abortion as a bad term anymore. It's a bad practice, but there are many other reason for that. Anyway, bare in mind, abortion is haram in Islam generally.

5. I've read an article about Abortion and Islam. Malaysian Fatwa council decide that we could abort up to 120 days of pregnancy and no later than that. This because after 120 days, the fetus already has the "ruh", so to abort them is to kill them. Visit here for more info.

6. The marketing class was also fun! sometimes when you fall into certain ads, and buy the stuff and and regret it afterward?. Do you know how it feels when you learn things behind those ads. How to make it that way.I realize sometimes we just fall into the marketers trap.

7. I don't want to talk about Envi Microbe class. Let it be a secret. No more that Abang Lokman class after this.

8. Biochem online? Not recommended class, but still with a little hardwork, A's is possible.

9. Finals week are coming in 2 days. 4 finals and a paper is the worst I had so far. Another weeks in the library and I'm done!!

10. The mother nature give a 5 minutes sneak peek of snow today! Welcome back Mr. Snow!

11. Enough for the rant! let get the work started..

Anyway, on this date, 2 years back, it was the point where I create the new chapter in life. A chapter full of ups n downs.

Btw, I did promised myself not to come back for at least 2 years, but somehow I did go back after 9 months. Well, I still 'noob' at that time!

So today, I had a thought to graduate early from RIT. I wrote it on twitter and it became a breaking new! Yes it is. At least 6 friends replied back to me on twitter. Then we had been replying to each other about that thing.

The breaking new!

If I graduate early, I can find the job earlier that everyone else in my batch. I called it a race. Every year at least a thousand Malaysian graduated with a biotech degree. Let count it. My batch here in RIT has almost 40 students, and approximately 100+ in the entire USA. I have friends taking biotech in UPM and UIA. I'm not sure about other IPTA in Malaysia, never heard of it but I'm pretty sure they have it. So a thousand make sense isn't it? I've seen many friends that are older than me that majoring in biotech. They surely will be graduating soon.

Joke2, marriage is not one of the reason! Haha

Well, if you said that this biotech was new field, and lots of job opportunities await in the future, I kind of agree with it. But still, in my opinion, whoever come in first into the field, will more likely to be on the top. Or it only applies on MLM only, no I guess. At least from my experience, first come, first serve is the ultimate rule.

So it is a race between me and you. Well, I know that Allah knows the best and will decide the very best for all of us. It is just that what can I foreseen by this limited thought was this. A race to get a job and involve in this biotech industry. I also think about a master, and even a PhD, but still I need to get it quick.

Ready, Get Set, GO!

Then, now I am in dilemma, after rationalize my thought to graduate early from RIT, I afraid that I might regret if I take that decision. My bucket list of thing to do in the US still doesn't empty yet.

The truth is, I never satisfied skiing even I had been ski for 2 seasons. I just don't want it to end. I can't imagine if this year will be my last.. I don't have saving to for my future after graduate either. Well, I need it to start an independent life in Malaysia.

Yes, I afraid to leave US land, just because I might not stepping on it again.

I never been to several must go places in the US yet. Hey. it's once in a lifetime experience and I don't want to waste it. I want to go to Spain too. I doubt if I can save money by working in Malaysia to go for travel and other 'lagho' thing. Coming to US after going back to Malaysia also might be an impossible mission.

So how?

It might seem my reasons were a bit 'lagho' and for fun only, but that's what make up my life.

After this long rant, I still can't decide what the best is . Sigh! Yes, drive your live is difficult... and

May Allah ease me and you in making any decision. Pray to Allah, He never forget us.

Kelana Convoy: Day 12 and 13

Well, it's been over a month since I last wrote the travelog. Well, just two more entry to finish. Let's finish it.

For day 12, we were on our way from Swiss to France. The journey took the whole day. We did karaoke in the bus! Haha. That night, we sleep over at Le Parc de Paris campsite. It was a nice campsite anyway.

Disneyland!

During day 13, we went to Disneyland, Paris! It was quite a nice experience for me as a first timer. But I thinks I'll never go there again. Line up for almost two hours for a ride was so not my type. Sorry to the Disneyland fan. :P

Disney Studio!

In the Disneyland, we entered several rides. I already forgot the names anyway. I remembered it's took about an hour and a half for Big Thunder Mountain ride. I really not a big fan of it..:)

I can conclude the trip to Disneyland was just for me to say that I had been here.

The Space Ride.

Well, if you have only one day to spend in the Disneyland, I suggest you just go to the theme park. Nothing interesting in the Disney Studio. The first place you have to go in the theme park is the Space Mountain: Mission II ride. Get a fast pass for that. Fast Pass, it is a ticket that allow you to skip the line. You can use the FastPass after 2 or 3 hours. After that, go to have another ride while waiting. One day will never enough anyway.

Anyway nice to meet everyone yesterday at the Alumni meeting. For those who do not come yesterday, do come next time, will ya? The committee for alumni also had been selected. InsyaAllah there will be programs that can benefit us in the future. Thanks to those who attended the meeting.

Seeing friends after 4 years, it was a nice experience anyway. The same friends, but a grow-up version of them. Some of them are already working, some looking forward for graduation and some still stuck in the student world. Everyone endure their own journey. I hope the best for all of you.

Ramadhan Updates

1. Sorry for abandon this blog for quite a while.I was quite busy working and enjoying the summer! I'll complete the travelog for Kelana Convoy later.

2. Ramadhan just came. This year, I'll complete my Ramadhan in Malaysia, InsyaAllah. Let's makes this Ramadhan one of the best Ramadhan we ever encounter.

3. We talked about Kurma (dates) yesterday. It brings back the memory where Adlil and I count the dates that we have during the first year so that it can last until the end of Ramadhan. It teach me that I have to appreciate things that I take for granted before.

4. De' Mall will close for 3 days. Do come to break fast at 4th Ramadhan, okay?

5. Last week I went to Malaysia vs Singapore game in Bukit Jalil. Sang National anthem with other 90, 000 Malaysian people was awesome! It makes me love Malaysia more! Haha...

6. But still, Malaysian people, do change your attitude. Boo-ing during Singapore anthem and throwing bottles to the field was not nice, okay?

7. Lose weight during Ramadhan? Errrr...., yeah will do!!

8. Note to self, do upgrade your Ibadah and Istiqamah in doing it. InsyaAllah.

Kelana Convoy: Day 10 and 11

I'm back again. I'll compiled both day 10 and 11 in one post as there's nothing much to say on day 10.

Day 10
We pack our stuff in the morning in Italy and went to Swiss. The journey took the whole day. Well, the weather was nice and the view were awesome! The mountain and green field all around resemble the greatness of our Creator.

That night, we did some photo session, write name with lights! And below were some of the nicest

Day 11
Today, people scattered around Swiss. Some of them go to Interlaken using train, some of them go Jungfrau (the top), and some of them just spend time in Kleine Schneideg (Halfway). Me, along with Nadiah and her family were going to the top while Sha and As going to Interlaken.

The train going to the top cost about 142 Swiss Franc. That caused most of the people in the trip did not go to the top. For me, it was once in a lifetime experience, so I went there :).

At the top, we visiting the Ice Palace where everything inside was made using ice.

Later, we went to see the Sphinx, it was quite a good view there.

Then, I went for skiing!! It was quite a disappointment as I thought the trail was a real, challenging trail, but it wasn't. It was just for recreational skiing. Anyway, where else you can get a chance to ski in summertime?

So today we left the best campsite of all, I forgot the name by the way. The destination for today is Pisa. The journey to Pisa took about 6 hours. We arrived at the campsite at 3 PM. After setting up the tent and whatso ever, we walked to the Tower of Pisa, which took us about 15 minutes. Nothing much to see except the leaning tower. Ironically, many pic was taken here with a lot of different action. Enjoy the pictures!

Kelana Convoy: Day 8

Done with Florence yesterday with a bit dissapointment about the time, now we get a chance to experience Rome! The weather in Rome was so damn hot that make all of us in the trip tanned, literally.

We go to Rome by public transport from the campsite. First, we go to the Vatican City, the Christian Holy City! We had a chance to enter the St Peter Basilicca after a very long Q. It was quite fast though. Then, we had a short visit to Castel St Angelo.

After a while, we took a bus to Termini, a hub for the underground tube. We had lunch and then we went to the Colloseo (Colosseum). To enter the Colloseo we had to pay 12 euro for the tickets, which include the pass for Foro Romano and Palatino Hill.The view inside the Colloseo was awesome! The technology for the ancient people to build up such a huge monument was impressing. The visit to Palatino Hill and the Foro Romano was not interesting as we had no idea about the history of both of it. Lesson learned: Get yourself ready with the history of each place!

The we walked to Pantheon. It actually a church, There's nothing interesting about it or maybe there's something but yeah, I don't read about the history yet. Oh wait, we made a stop at Piazza Venezia for a group picture!

The next stop was Fontana de Trevi. As describe by auntie, the fountain was quite popular and was shown in many movies. I don't know the truth is. There's a lot of people there. We only stop for a short time to takes picture and the move to the next stop which is Spagna. Once again, a visit there was worthless as we did not have any idea about the history there.

We then took a train to the last stop of the day, Pinchio Garden. The crew suggest us to stay until sunset as the sunset view there was stunning. Well, we did not stay as it was still early that time.

On our way back, at the train station, we met another group that says they go to the mosque, which is the largest mosque in Europe. We was quite upset as we did not know it earlier. One more things, we did walk to the campsite as the bus was quite late! The 20 minutes walk feel like forever! Haha.

Kelana Convoy: Day 7

So today we had a chance to visit Florence. Oh wait, did I mention about some foreigner selling fake handbags and glasses around Italy? It is just the same with Malaysia where we can get the fake stuff everywhere. But beware, never ever dare to ask the price from them, you'll not get away easily. They'll keep asking and asking, and even follow you as you walk.

We spend about two hours around Florence, which I would say it was not enough. We arrive at the next campsite a bit early that day, so it would be best if we could stay a bit longer!

To enter Florence, we had to pay the visitor tax. It was 300 Euro for a bus! In Florence, there we handmade handbags and other leather stuff that as good as the designers. You can also shop for gold in Florence. It was at Pento Vecchio, where all the shop along the brigde was a gold shop.

There were also Ulfidzi museum and forgot-the-name cathedral.Many Michelangelo arts was here. I didn't read the history about Florence, so yeah. By the way, enjoy the picturesss!

Kelana Convoy: Day 6

Yesterday, after setting up tent at Camping Fusina campsite, we had a chance to play soccer with some men at the campsite. It was ]a great time as I haven't play soccer for quite some time. I also get to know other people better too that time.

Venice!

The destination for today was Venice! We got a chance to watch The Tourist on our way to Italy yesterday. The view of Venice from the movie was nice indeed. However, the crew tell us don't put high expectation on Venice. So we did.

In Venice, we visited the Lace factory, a traditional handmade craft. The craft takes forever to finish. The handmade craft was nice but expensive!

Next, we had a chance ride the Gondola. A must-do-thing in Venice! It was quite nice. By the way, our boatman was not so friendly. I've heard other boatman told the passenger about the history and others. Anyway, thanks to the boatman, we had a chance to be around the Venice!

Venice was not as nice as being picture in the movie. The route was too crowded and you can get lost in there. The maps given was useless when you arrive in the city itself. The interesting thing is, if I got this right, there were no land transports in Venice including bike.

After coming back from Venice to the campsite, I had a chance to snap the sunset view. Subhanallah it was a nice view.

Kelana Convoy: Day 5

So now, it was day 5. Last night it was rain heavily, even the cooking tent almost being flew away. At that night, in the cooking tent, I along with the guys that joined the trip held the tent to its position and also open cafe for drinks. I started to know the guys better that night! It was a wonderful night indeed. The nasi lemak also was delicious!

During the day, we went to Innsbruck. It was quite a small town in Austria yet it is the capital city for the state of Tyrol. In Innsbruck, we get a chance to see the Golden Roof. The roof was not actually made by gold, but the copper plate and gold coating. It is a symbol of greatness for the King at that time.

We also had a chance to buy Swarovski product here. It was quite cheap compare to the other places. If I'm not mistaken, the Crystal World exhibit was closed due to renovation, so it was quite a dissapointment for us. Anyway, many of the people in my trip get Swarovski product here, or at least a Swarovski Keychain for 12 euro. Not me! XD P/s: too bad no swarovski picture was taken.

We also visited Bergisel, the ramp for ski jump for Winter Olympic 2012 I think. The architect for the ramp was Malaysian.

Kelana Convoy: Day 4

Today journey starts with 3 hours drive to Neuschweinstein Castle. The journey took about 5 hours (if I remembered it right) from the castle.
The castle was originally a homage from King Ludwig II to Richard Wagner. The Walt Disney castle also was inspired by this castle. Okay enough with the story! Let's the picture do the talk.

Kelana Convoy: Day 3

Wehad to pack up our camp in the morning. The process started to get fast aseverybody get used to pack up their tent and people started to helping eachother out. The destination of the day was Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Frankfurtis among the biggest and busiest city in Germany.

18 June to 2 July 2011

First we stopped at thebig Euro sign at the European Central bank. This was the place where they (Kelanaconvoy trip) usually took a group picture. We had one too! Then, we had 2 hoursto walk around Frankfurt.

Frankly speaking, therewere nothing much to see. We had a chance to go to the top of one shopping mallto view the Frankfurt from above. From there, we can see clearly the old andnew Frankfurt. I forgot what Mr Khairul explanation, but I'm pretty sure thatthey both were separated by the Main River.

Two hours was enough to stay at Frankfurt I guess, unless you want to do some real shopping! There was sale in 2 3 places too. Later of the day, we went to the camp site somewhere along the road between Frankfurt and Nauchweinstein Castle.

Niqab

I always have curiosity when I see women in niqab. Although I might have the intention to see how the face looks like, but there were something that hold back the thought. And she indirectly gained my respect. It might be the beauty of Niqab, for me at least. The reward for such a great deeds that the women with niqab did.

Yesterday I meet a women with niqab during a meeting and turned out she was my junior back in high school. The curiosity risen even more as I might have seen the face before. Despite the curiosity, I respect her for taken a great step in search of Allah blessing.

By the way, I want to clarify that I don't have any bad intention to her or any other women with niqab yet the curiosity risen make me realize that Allah had make us to be the best of all mankind. It also make me realize how bad my level of submission to Allah.

Let's change for the better and the best!

Kelana Convoy: Day 2

The day started with bad news. Maybe some drunken peoplehad sabotage the bus. The emergency door had been open and it can’t be closed.So we can’t get to the places as planned. We ended up using one bus back andforth to pick up people. The destinations for the day were Volendam andAmsterdam!

The first stop was the Clog and Cheese factory. The clog isa wooden shoe, a traditional shoe for the Holland people. It seems practical touse the shoe, but it was quite hard for people nowadays. I heard that the clogwas about to extinct. The cheese was good. The taste of the cheese wasdifference on what I usually had back in US. The fact that cheese could be ashard as rock was quite surprising anyway!

Then, we stopped at one of the traditional windmill forseveral pictures.

After that, we were heading to Volendam. There was a diamondpresentation and also Holland traditional clothes photo session. I could notget a chance to go for the photo session as there are too many people at thattime. The view in Volendam was nice, the lake and many boat add up some pointsto the beautiful scenery.

I got the chance to taste the Donar Kebab, the one thatBoss, Najmi and Erin had been talking about. I am not sure if it was the one,but the name was Donar Kebab and it was awesome!

In the evening, we went to Amsterdam. First, we went forsightseeing by river cruise. It was a disappointment. Kelana Convoy should notever recommend that I think. Btw, we got a chance to see the smallest house, 1m wide. The tax for house was based on the wide of the house, so the people who live inside pay the "cukai pintu" the least tax ever!

As we gotonly 4 hours to spend in Amsterdam, and the river cruise took about 1 hour tofinish, I would not recommend the river cruise at all. By the way, I was ableto go to the I amsterdam statue and the red light district even spend just alittle time in both places.

Holland is popular with its regulation that allows drug andprostitution if I am not mistaken. The red light district, as the name suggest,had many room or door with a red light at the top of it. The red lightindicates that there are prostitute inside the room. I had seen someone negotiate with the prostitute. Well, I forgot to take the picture of how the red light rooms look like.

Kelana Convoy: Day 1

The journey starts at Park Lane, London. The bus picked usup at somewhere around 8.30 am and we are straightly heading to Amsterdam. UKand other European countries are separated by sea. After 3 hours journey, wearrive at the border of UK. The bus get into a train and the train brought usto France using underwater railways through the sea. It's call Eurotunnel.

After that we stopped atthe Chocolate factory in Belgium. The chocolate there was nice and atreasonable price. But beware, if you bought a chocolate from here, watch outfor gelatin in the chocolate. Some of them might have it.

After the chocolate factory, we were heading straight to thecampsite called, Amsterdame Bose! In the bus, there was an ice breaking sessionwhere everyone gets a chance to introduce themselves. It was the first timeswhere all of us need to set up camp and also find a tent-mate. The camp sitehad free wi-fi, which was the only campsite that has it throughout the trip.The day ends with ice breaking session with several other people.

I wrote this post on my way back to Malaysian after 20 daysin Europe. Overall this holiday was superb. It was totally worth it with allthe hard work that I had been working on the past year.

I joined the Kelana Convoy trip after being introduced by afriend. The trip goes to 8 countries around Europe for 15 days. The countriesinclude Belgium, Holland, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, Paris and theUK. It was fun and I shall say it is the easy way to conquer Europe if you havea small budget. Here the list of reason why you should join the trip.

Conquest of Europe trip 2011

1) The price wasreasonable.

- The trip that Ijust joined cost me about 599 GBP, or about 1000 USD. It was reasonable priceas you get the accommodation (tent), food and transport. The visitor tax forsome places also included in the price.

2) ItMuslim-friendly.

- The food servedwas Halal, which mean you can get rid of the biggest worries while travellingabroad. There are certain days where lunch was not provided. However, the crewwill tell you places where you can get Halal food, or at least seafood.

- The Qibladirection and Solat time was provided.

3) Tour guide andlanguage lesson day

- When the groupspends the in big city such as Venice, Rome or Paris, there are crews that willmake a walking tour. So for those who do not want to read the map or subwaydirectories, they can follow the crew visiting the places in the city. Mostlyfamilies and quite old people will join this walking tour.

The crews alsoteach language for the different countries. ‘Thank you’ and ‘Hi’ in thedifferent language is a must if you are travelling in Europe.

4) Sleeping in tent!

- Sleeping in tentfor 15 days was not as bad as I thought at first. It was fun instead. I bookeda cabin at the Swiss campsite, but I ended up voluntarily sleeping in the tent.It was fun!

Maybe it was notfor some people, especially for older people. There are cabin option availablefor those who do not want to camp.

5) Malaysian friendsfor all over the world.

In my trip, thereare people come from US, Canada, Doha, UK, Ireland and even New Zealand. Not toforget, Malaysia! Here was the place to make new friend. Don’t afraid to jointhe trip alone as you will make new friends to accompany you around the Europe!

6) Spending time withfamily.

- I’m pretty surethat several families that joined the trip had a great time. I think Nadiahhad. Some graduates in UK and their parent joined this trip before theirgraduation. Some even come from Malaysia.

Of all the reasons above, bear in mind that this is budgettrip. You are required to wash the dishes, setting up the tent by yourself, helpingwith the cooking and cleaning and also cleaning up the campsite. And somecampsites do charge for hot shower, so don’t get mad, it was common.

Oh wait I noticed that Air Asia X was not as bad as picturesby some friends. The legroom was the widest that I had so far. Even travellingwith MAS, you can’t get the legroomas wide as this. I haven’t taste the food at the time I wrote this post. I hopeit is nice.

I will published the each day diary from the first day until day 15. I could not post it live during the trip as the internet were limited. So bear with this blog for another 15 days. It's start now!

Europe!

I just arrived in London this evening. It's a bit cold than I expected.

The journey was not so good. I'll not recommend Iceland Express to anyone afterward. It worth to spend a hundred buck more to buy flight from other companies. Seriously it is worth it. For a better legroom and an entertainment set, I'll definitely go for others next time.

There is a poster at the Iceland Airport that says "Everything is hay during the hard time". It is mainly due to the weather to grow crops and feed livestock I guess. I wondered people there ever had a heat from sun. The weather there was like during the transition between Fall and Winter in the US. It was a nice and beautiful land though. Asnida said that the ocean there was frozen. Oh no, I miss that! One more thing, the Subuh prayer start at 2am, Maghrib at 12am, and Isya' was at 1am. You get how long was the day for them?

During the flight, I was listening to my Ipod and I realized the fact that the last time I really listened to the song in the Ipod was when I still working as custodian. Oh I miss that! I miss Rochester! By the way, to the Rochester people, we'll meet again soon. To seniors, maybe yesterday morning was the last day for us to meet each other, anyway, good luck in the your future endeavor.

I never been in a big city like NYC or London itself before. I can feel the busy-ness here!I'll be exploring the city tomorrow, and after that the journey for Conquest of Europe will begin!

Aku sekarang blajar kat US, dan ade sekali tu aku pergi ke bengkel kereta seorang pakcik ni. Borak punya borak, die tanya aku pemimpin yang buat kes sodomi tu memerintah lagi ke? Summer's update...

1. Midwest was awesome. Although we did not win any games, but Budu Sedak was still the best. Lets try again next year.

2. Had a great time in the car as well. To Izzat, Ainina, Syamimi, Rizi, and Nabihah; we really had a great time, and I learned a lot from you guys. It was a memorable trip indeed, as we talked about what happened in the car again and again after the trip.

3.The hail at Ohio during my way to Michigan was unforgettable experience. It did really scare me or maybe everyone in the car. Thanks to Allah as we all safe. Wait, one windshield had cracked!

Another Stop...

The 2010-2011 academic year had come to the end. All the good and bad things happened, all challenges that came along, all the pain that followed, all the tears that flowed out and all the laugh that been shouted had thought me many great lessons. Lessons of friendships. Lessons of life.

I remembered the moment where I had to wake up early in the morning on weekdays to go to works with Nadiah. I still couldn't tell where the courage to wake up came from, but it did prove me that wake up early is never impossible.

I remembered the moment where I had to woke up at 4 am, as my work start at 5. Without Wak accompanied me through that time, I think I never woke up that early. Oh wait, he drove me to work too. Thank you Wak.

Winter Roadtrip!

I remembered the moment where several of us going for a road-trip. I had it twice before, and it was great as a whole. Thank you to all friends that let us stay over in your house. To whoever was in a roadtrip with me, thank you for the memories. It had been great to have a chance of knowing you better.

Fall roadtrip!

I remembered when I had been tested by Allah with several challenges that come one after another. Start with losing job, problem with cars and some others. There were friends that really care, while some others were not. Well, that was their preference though. However, to whoever did care and support me through the time, a gazillion thanks are never enough.

I remembered when I almost astray from the right path and the heart was empty, come several friends and brought things that filled the heart. I never joined Usrah, even I insisted not to join one before. I hope the bond that we made, will strengthen over time.

I will miss the time where we struggled for exams. You guys had become the courage for me to study harder, without you knowing it. Special thanks to Nadiah, Wak, Wahie, and Biha. I did put you as a benchmark, and try to get even higher. Let study together again next year!

Bristol, you are missed!

I remembered the winter season, the skiing and snowboarding every week. This season was awesome. Lots and lots of improvement achieved. Thank to RIT for having a wellness class for skiing and snowboarding. Thanks to MARA for paying the tuition fee too. Oh, I really miss this. To Chot, Amer, Azlina, Nadiah, Sha, let take the class and have fun together next season, ok?

Advice from a brother from UoR. (I put it in my own word.)

We had been studying for about half of average people life to prepared ourselves for the next step, work and family life. He himself had studied almost 30 years just to prepare for the working world in which the period is not certain, as death might come to end it. We making a preparation that we are not even know if it is worth it.

There is only one definite thing ahead, DEATH!

If that much efforts can we put for uncertain things, how about our efforts for the things that definitely will happen. How about our preparation to face the Death, Barkzah, Day of Judgment and ALLAH!. Remembered, there is no delay on this, even for one second. Yes, it has definite departure. Oh wait, the period for this is forever!

A reminder for us just in case we forgot!

MySA Election..

First of all, Congratulations to the new RIT MySA eboard members that been elected yesterday. I hope you guys would do you the task given thoroughly. The trust had been given, so take the responsibilities and reach the best out of yourself.

To whoever are easily offended or small minded, please leaves this blog now.

On the side note, I personally had a several comments on what going on last night. Before that, this post is not related to my lost in last night election at all. I decided to write this as a reminder, for me and whoever care to read this post.

1. We started with manifesto presentations. When you were nominate as the candidates, it means that some people want you to be on that position. Yes, you get supports from some people, so don't afraid to stand up and state your points.

2. Well, I did not deny that holding responsibilities are the most difficult things on earth, but that does not means with that sentence, you hold your back and did not want the positions. Allah already elected you as a khalifa in this world; can you run from those responsibilities? Dear self and friends, it is time to stand up and push our-self beyond the limits.

3. I screwed up my debate. It was like the first time I ever been in debate team, and I never watched English debates before. Basically, now I know that my weaknesses, which were I did not have enough critical thinking skills and the courage to talk in front of the people. Stage fright, shall I say? I hope there's another debate next time. ~~New Mr Pres, take note!~~

4. The paper ballot went well, the announcement was also good. It will be much more excitement if the amount of vote that is so closed was announced. Well, no hard feeling though..=)

5. At the end, someone told me, if you did lost by one vote, that was his vote because he simply looked the next person sitting beside him and voted the same. Well, I did not blame you for the lost, but next time do vote for yourself. Be responsible!

All in all, yesterday night teach me a lot about almost everything. I glad I gone through that night! And don't forget, I'll never failed myself easily in this [click link].

For those who missed that night, this might add some values to your lost!

Dear Malaysian students, After being personally invited by my students, I had the wonderful pleasure of attending the Malaysian Night yesterday evening. Thank you so much for taking the time and exerting the energy to put this on for your fellow students and faculty at R.I.T. It was truly an enriching experience.

The musical play based on the search for love by Sultan Azuraddin Shah was delightful and fascinating. The tale was mystical and spellbinding...how the Sultan is lonely, but gives his first love, a Chinese Princess away to the one she loves in an act of kindness, then how he rises to the challenge of a Fairy Princess (a goddess in other cultures I think) with the amazing feats of strength and cunning to win her, only to adhere to his principles, allowing only unconditional love. Then the sad tale of meeting two lovely mystical princesses who kill each other as a result human nature, and then coming to the incredible story of how the Sultan slays a gang of pirates to free a simple village woman who helps him, and how they fall in love. I think it is an amazing tale and am still spellbound by the acting and the amazing dancing and music.

The acting was fabulous, the dancers were talented and energetic, the choreography was stunning, the costumes and props amazing ! It combined a great mixture of acting, music and delightful humor! The amount of time and work you must have all put into this and your standing ovation at the end was very well deserved.
Congratulations on a truly remarkable performance and - thanks for the treats after the show too !

The break is ~~almost~~ over. Many things happened throughout the break, well some were good, some were bad.

I remembered one time when I was at the car care center, the mechanics there asked me to come after Jumaat prayer because he afraid I might miss my prayer while he fixing the car. And, he is not even a Muslim. His boss was a Muslim though, but I feel touched because he does care about my prayer. I hope he will get hidayah from Allah to become a Muslim.

Basically every day during the holiday was filled by something beneficial, or at least not just sleeping and hanging around. Well, a "cheap" break but still great!

Breaking News:

My "car world" was over! Maybe for a week, months or even years. Only time can tell!

Well it hard to accept the facts but that was Allah challenges. Alhamdulillah

La Takhaf Wa La Tahzan, Innallah Ma'ana

Kita sering diuji oleh Allah swt di dalam hidup.

Kenapakah kita diuji
" Apakah manusia itu mengira bahawa mereka dibiarkan (saja)mengatakan: "Kami telah beriman," sedang mereka tidak diuji lagi? Dan sesungguhnya Kami telah menguji orang-orang yang sebelum mereka, maka sesungguhnya Allah mengetahui orang-orang yang benar dan sesungguhnya Dia mengetahui orang-orang yang dusta. " (Surah Al-Ankabut ayat 2-3)

Allah ingin menguji keimanan dan kesabaran.
Kalau ade orang bagi duit suruh convert agama, apakah decision kita?

Allah berjanji bahawa hambaNya tidak akan diuji melebihi batasan kemampuannya.

I was asked to give some reminder during the Usrah sessionwhich supposedly held last night. However, as MySA handled meeting and Yasinrecitation, the Usrah might be postponed I guess. As I already prepared thething to say, I think it is better to share it here. However this post willincludes the situation that happen to me, which I planned to not saying itduring the Usrah session.

Back in the high school, I learned Islamic JurisprudenceStudy. In my own word, I define this study as a study basically on how the ruleand regulation of Islam be made. I learned about 4 guidance to determine alaw in Islam which is Al-Quran, As-Sunnah, Qiyas, and Ijma'. This topic wasamong the one that I like the most.

If you remembered I said that I quit my job because of thereligious concern is it. I worked at the dining hall that served a non-halalfood, which include pork. After working for a while, I read a post on afriend's blog whether we are permissible to work with that thing. I searchthrough the internet and found related post, but almost all of it talk aboutalcohol. Alcohol is strictly haram in Islam, as reported by Anas (may Allah bepleased with him), that Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) said:

"God’s curse falls on ten groups of people who dealwith alcohol. The one who distills it, the one for whom it has been distilled,the one who drinks it, the one who transports it, the one to who it has beenbrought, the one whom serves it, the one who sells it, the one who utilizesmoney from it, the one who buys it and the one who buys it for someoneelse."

Then I remembered about Qiyas that I learned back in thehigh school. It basically comparing two things, between one that is certain it'shukum with the other based on their similarities. I compared alcohol and porks,with the facts that both of them were haram to be eat by Muslim (I do want tofind whether I can works with porks or not, which the hukum is not certain byQuran and Hadith). So, after that, I felt something is not right. However,honestly said, I am afraid to search for the truth, because I am afraid if thetruth is it was not permissible to work with those haram foods, I had to quitmy job. I told several friends about this, which several of them work at thesame place with me. I raised this question in a car during one of theroadtrips, and one of the people inside told me about this hadith.

Narrated An-Nu`manbin Bashir: I heard Muhammad PBUH saying, 'Both legal and illegal things areevident but in between them there are doubtful (suspicious) things and most ofthe people have no knowledge about them. So whoever saves himself from thesesuspicious things saves his religion and his honor. And whoever indulges inthese suspicious things is like a shepherd who grazes (his animals) near theHima (private pasture) of someone else and at any moment he is liable to get init. (O people!) Beware! Every king has a Hima and the Hima of Allah on theearth is His illegal (forbidden) things. Beware! There is a piece of flesh inthe body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if itgets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart.
Bukhari and Muslim

From this hadith, it says that there are halal and haramthings that are definite, and in between them was a doubtful. It was mentionedthat someone that preserved him/herself from those doubtful things preserveshis religion and honor. The hadith also warned us, with an analogy of a king. Aking must have his private site ( a site which everyone can't enter). Allahalso have it's private site (on the earth), which is the forbidden things. Inthis hadith it was mentioned whoever involves with the suspicious things islike a sherped with his animal near the forbidden area. This shepherd can'tcontrol its animal for not entering the forbidden area once they reaching nearit. The shepherd here pictures that how hard for a person to avoidthe haram thing (Private site) once you are near it (doing the doubtful thing).

After a while, I still continue to works at the dining hall,accompanied by this thing around my head. Luckily, one of my friend make amove, and ask around about this thing. We were attending a seminar in NewJersey, and she ask one of the speakers, Dr Waleed. Based on what I heard, DrWaleed said we can works on other department that are not related to pork (i.e:beverages and salad). However, I remembered when I first apply for the job, thesupervisor ask me whether it is ok or not for me to handle the meat. I answeredyes as long as I wore a glove. I never thought about the hukum of halal andharam at that time. I also had a chance to have a conversation with Dr Waleed,he then left me with a hadith. Hadhrat Ubaidullah Ibn Muhsin (radiallahu anhu)narrates that Rasulullah (sallallahu alayhi wasallam) said:

“He among you who arises in the morning with Imaan, healthand sufficient food for that day, should consider himself as being inpossession of the whole world.”
(Tirmizi)

At this point, I set my mind to quit the job. I felt bad toprioritize money instead of Allah blessing. Alhamdullilah, I already quit the job about 3days ago. I will looking for a better, permissible income, InsyaAllah.

Before end this long post ( the longest I ever made), I wantto share with you something to be ponder on. It is one of the verses in Al-Quran,which made my whole body hair raised when hearing it, literally. Yes it is! Itwas when I joined ESQ 165 leadership training a year ago. It was from surahAl-Anbiyaa', verse 30.

Have not those whodisbelieve known that the heavens and the earth were joined together as oneunited piece, then We parted them? And We have made from water every livingthing. Will they not then believe?

The malay translation of it, (give a more impact for me if readingthis in Malays)

Dan tidakkah orang-orang kafir itu memikirkan dan mempercayaibahawa sesungguhnya langit dan bumi itu pada asal mulanya bercantum (sebagaibenda yang satu), lalu Kami pisahkan antara keduanya? Dan Kami jadikan dariair, tiap-tiap benda yang hidup? Maka mengapa mereka tidak mahu beriman? (Surah21:30)

So today was the final day of Winter Quarter. More likely the last day for the Winter season itself. It was a sunny day for 2 consecutive days with temperature near 15 C. It's hot!

2 Finals are waiting to be tackle down on Monday and Tuesday. Is that great to have another 3 extra days for the holiday? Nothing had been planned for the holiday despite the fact that I'll get a new car during the holiday.

Life has been so good nowadays. Jobless was awesome!! Oh, please forget the facts that you will not have a lot of extra money each month. I still searching to work at other places. In search for a more permissible income, InsyaAllah.

Spring is coming in 2 weeks. The best quarter ever, without no doubt! We will have a great time, RITians.

It's been quite a while since the last post. I had almost no time to update and published something here, but I always think about doing it. It all because of two things, one is and so called "Ups" and one is "Down" moment!

Let's talk about what the Ups was
So here is it, RITMySA was the champion of Global Union Unification Night that took place last night. Good job, after 3 month of practice,despite all of the conflict raised, regardless how big the prob were, we had do it! To all of the participant, I just want to say thank you again that make this thing as a memorable things in my life. Really looking forward to work with you guys again.

I'm back to basic, a jobless student in RIT. Yeah, I been terminated from the Custodian position as I took too much holiday to go to events in DC and NJ. I guess it worth it, InsyaAllah. Did I tell you that I had 2 jobs before, and I'll quit that job too in another 2 weeks.It is just because of religious concern.

I really did not want to complain about my working hours as that what I choose before. There is no point why I should regret about it. But I was a bit messed up when it comes to exam week. Yeah, I did complaining once, but I hope no more. By the way, those word of encouragement from the manager just now somehow bring back my spirit.

Muktamar 2010

So here was the updated that I already stated before,about Muktamar 2010.

Muktamar 2010 was held in St Louis, Missouri last week. It was an annual event of MISG with collaboration with IMSA. The theme for this year was

In The Spirit of Humility, Reaching Out for All Humanity

For me, this event was a success. Over time we had to have something to feed our soul and strengthen our Iman. I found it here! Yes, I did not go to all programs, but somehow it makes me think how good am I as a Muslim. The speaker choose by the committee was superb. Some of them were Sheikh Umar Baloch, Imam Abdul Malik, Ustaz Hasanuddin, Dr Hafizi and others. Thank you to all the speakers.

Being in this event made me realize how much I have to improve my faith. I also realized to not take for granted the fact that I was born as a Muslim as it actually means nothing except you were born and raised in Islamic environment. Yeah, I should be glad to be born as a Muslim, if not, I don't know what my fate are, either I found Islam as the true way of life or not.

And this Muktamar also showed me the ukhwah build between Malaysian and Indonesian in the US. We did watched the final AFF Suzuki Cup together. And those laser issue was not been said even once, and the program run smoothly after that. Those was only a small issue which were useless to think of.

By the way, Congratulation to IMSA and MISG comittee for the event.

Non-ending journey

It is quite a long time since the last update I published in here. And now, I am two weeks vacations (read: vacation), not a holiday, so I considered myself still busy enjoying it.

Now, I am attending Muktamar 2010, in St Louis, MO. It is one of several stops for this winter holiday roadtrip. Yes, 2 roadtrips in one month and now with more miles traveled.

Camry yang berjasa...

Roadtrip was awesome! This might be the best way to spend holiday in US. At least for me. Maybe I should set a target to cover all the state in the US.

I enjoyed roadtrip the most because when we traveled together, I got to know the ins and outs of my friends who traveled along. By the way, that's only works when there were lively conversation between those who were in the car.

No offense, but for me, staying up during a roadtrip was important. We hold the same responsibility for the safety of the journey. As said before, have a conversation and no one will sleep. Thinks again, when was the perfect times for you to tell your untold-childhood-story and high-school-drama except when to kill time in the car.

Oh, some might afraid of told those story, but we got a deal.

What happened in the car, stays in the car.

Yeah, that's the deals. Those story that were told was just for sharing experience and fun. But, BEWARE your true colors might revealed! Haha.

Roadtrip

Having a roadtrip around US is awesome. I can see how my friend live and study in their university, which are definitely different on what I have in RIT.

Their university is definitely different from one another. Some have old, but beautiful building, some have a new and luxurious-looking building, and I go to one that were located in cities (yes with an 'S').

Driving in US road was also a new experience. With a minimum and maximum speed limit, it definitely makes a very smooth journey

Anyway, more update will come soon. Got to go and keep the journey in pace. Mammoth Cave is waiting. Another 8 hours of driving. Really hope to have a safe and smooth journey.

Yesterday I watched a movie, Devils with Chot and Zamy. It's basically about 5 people with a history of wrongdoing in their life. They got stucked in a escalator and the devil, which appeared to be an old woman, killed a person at a time. She did killed herself too. So, there were a policeman that control the situation, which had lost his wife and kid during an accident which caused by a person which also in the escalator. The security guard, which believe in this such things as devils told him that there were reasons why he was here. So, basically, the devils makes the person commit that he was the one drive the car that cause the accident. And the police, at last knows the truth.

And just now, we went to have a dinner at a restaurant. After finished the meals, usually the waiter gave us fortune cookies, and the bill. After having the delicious foods, we will opened the fortune cookies and tell each others what it says inside. And sometimes, the fortune cookies quotes really fit that persons well. So, what I got today really figuratively "punch me straight to the face".

So, maybe a random thought to go to the restaurant just now is just because it will makes me feel that I should start study. I guess I should start study NOW! Haha..

Everything happened for a reasons.

There will always "hikmah" behind it.

No matter how bad our path is,

always remember there is light at the end.

Malaysia egg VS USA egg...

For those who been in US restaurant for the first time usually will not familiar with the type off egg offered here. I been in that condition too, and the only thing that I know to reply when the waiter ask how would I like my egg was "done".

Now, after 3-4 times works as omelette cook at Gracies (yes I got promoted..:p), I still confused with the term. And the people who order this fancy thing, (you can easily ordered omellete and do not need to order variety of fried egg which I did not familiar with), will usually will have a weird face when I gave them the egg, and I know it wasn't right. So, let see the Malaysian Egg VS USA egg.

Malaysian Egg

Telur Dadar (Malaysian Omellete)
- Made primarily with egg that been beat slowly in the bowl. Mix with onion, peppers and salt. Cook with vegetable oil.

Telur Goreng (Fried Egg)
- Egg that cooked thoroughly until the yolk solidified.

Telur Mata Kerbau ( Bull-eye egg)
- Basically, it is "sunny side-up". Cooked only on the one side of the egg.

Omelette
-Egg that been cooked in the cylindrical ring, mix with cheese, variety choice of meat(ham, sausage, bacon and etc), onion, peppers, olive, and many more.
- Milk are added into the egg.
- Usually cook using a cooking spray instead of oil.

Omelette, I usually cook with less stuff in it.

- However, there are also egg-white option, which primarily using an egg white that are already pack in a box.

Scramble egg- 2 or 3 eggs, scramble with variety of stuff primarily same as the omelette stuff.

Sunny Side Up
- Fried egg that cooked only in one side only.The yolk is usually liquid and the white a bit runny.

Over-easy
-Fried egg that cooked on both side. The yolk have a thin layer (cook for a while). Most of the yolk is still liquid.

Over-medium- Fried egg that cooked on both sides; the yolk is of medium consistency and the egg white is thoroughly cooked.

Over well/ Over Hard-Fried egg that cooked on both sides until the yolk has solidified.

Over well.

That's all that I can think about. One more thing, usually Malaysian cook using vegetable oil all the time, while American using the non-stick pan grill. It's more healthy in American way i guess. I also think of an idea to compare American breakfast and Malaysia breakfast, but just save them for later.

Aku dulu time sekolah mesti jauh dari rumah. Memang kena bangun awal naik van pergi sekolah. Sekolah pertama aku yg jauh ialah Tadika Teluk Sisek, sebuah tadika kepunyaan bangsa Cina kot, tapi pelajar berbilang bangsa gitu. 1 Malaysia memang sudah dipraktikkan dari dulu actually.

Tapi dekat sekolah ini ramai pelajar lelaki pakai seluar pendek, tapi aku pakai je seluar panjang. Tutup aurat gitu, actually mmg tak biasa seluar pendek. Tahun sebelum tu blaja dekat Taski ABIM, lagi la, baju melayu pakai pegi kelas kan.

Penat woo g tadika...

Memori yang tak boleh lupa kat tadika ni ade sekali waktu rehat, seperti biasa aku tengah makan sosej goreng potong 8 mak aku bekalkan dari rumah. Waktu tu rehat dan ramai la main-main. Tadika la katakan. Tibe-tibe ade sorang mamat nie, pergi kacau aku tengah makan, die amik bulu ayam yang warna coklat tuh, pergi main-mainkan dekat telinga aku. Sekali tepis buat lagi, kena kejar satu tadika.

Ade la mamat tu dalam gambar ni, tapi aku da tak ingat yang mane....

Bila dapat kejar dia, dengan selambanya aku tiru ala-ala wrestling, amik kaki dia dan hempas sampai jatuh. Punya la tak pikir lepas je die jatuh atas simen kan. Menangis mamat tuh dan aku pon dengan cuaknya masok kelas dan sorok. Sorok kat mana, bawah meja yang paras lutut tuh. Baring je dengan harapan cikgu tak jumpe, padahal obvious boleh nampak. Then mak budak tu datang, mujur tak kena apa-apa. Cuma budak tu kena masok hospital kot, tak pergi tadika. Tapi aku dengan penuh rasa tanggungjawab pergi rumah die main congkak. Hahaha....

Apa-apa pun berjaya grad dengan berjayanya dari tadika nie. Haha. First graduation tuh, pointer 4 flat kot waktu tuh. Tak dapat best student sebab kes disiplin. (Entah ade ke tak kan).

Post yang hajatnya nak tulis semalam, tapi tak kesampaian. Sebabnya akan diberitahu kemudian.

So semalam mainlah futsal bersama melayu-melayu sekalian di kampung RIT. Hari khamis dipilih sebab majoritinya masing-masing masih single dan tidak tahu apa nak dilakukan pada malam Jumaat. Bermain futsal adalah penyelesaiannya bagi org bujang. Nanti kalau da kahwin susah pulak kan nak main bola malam Jumaat. Kenapa yek,

Selepas futsal terjadilah satu event random, hanya dengan status ym yg bertajuk "denny's jom" maka TERpergilah satu kereta dodge neon ke Denny's.

Dan makanlah ~~roti canai dan teh tarik~~ burger dan air sparkel sambil berborak-borak sampai pukul 2 pagi.....

Air Fusion favourite yang boleh refill....

Dan selepas makan di ~~kedai 'mamak'~~ Denny's baliklah semua orang ke rumah dan tidur....Itulah penyebab tiada update pada hari semalam.

Fauzan once said to me, meaning of life is defined by oneself. It is not defined by surrounding people. Not doing something that everyone does is not "takde life" as we had chance to choose and we made a decision. A wise one.

That's what he told me when I said I have no weekend life as I works on both weekend at 5 AM. And I also work the following Monday at 6.45 AM. Yeah, that's life for me at least. But all of this cost me a great amount of sleep time. I just sleep for 3 to 4 hours a day.

And I end up yawning for the whole day. But still I didn't sleep yet. Better sleep well next weekend. But with orgo exam coming up next, can I?

I overseen one picture in my computer. I wish I could see those eyes again. Yeah, most probably I will. Lets time decides. Whose eyes? Hehe, you guess who.

Genetics exams marks was way too awesome.....and I lied.

For the past two weeks, I really want to wrote something down here, but I just can't. I just don't have time to do it. And yeah, fyi it takes me a lot of time to wrote a post, a published one.

Nothing interesting to be told, life is just great for this time being. Working and studying at the same time is not a big deal. But, if you get the right shift. I'll be dead if working 5am to 7am every single morning. I respect for those working on that shift. You guys are great.

Did I told you earlier about my job? I am now working for the Grace Watson Hall and Facilities Management Service(again, yes I do get a job there). Grace Watson hall is a dining hall, I usually work at beverages counter or the dish line. For FMS, I did what I usually did before (click here). It's 17 and a half hours work people. By the way, I just takes 16 credit hours this quarter ( I planned to takes 12 earlier). =)

I do love working in the US. Don't get me wrong, the minimum wages is not the first reason, might be the second one. =). I really love with the system here, everything has it own system.They plan the work systematically. It is just great.

And I just finished all of my first exams, and it was just okay. Screw up some part and score in another part. No need to talk about it. Dang it.

Jobless..!!

I do enjoy the first 2 days of class. Maybe because of the back-to-school spirits. But one of the lecturer talks so slow, I wish I can survive two hours in his class.

What's missing??

My management accounting class is super awesome. The lecturer used to apply the same class format as the last quarter class, and guess what, I did get the take-home exams and effort-based homework. The homework did count 45% of the course percentage and just submit all of it is enough. No need to be right for the answer. The exams, we get 2, yes TWO full weeks to do it. Nice one prof.

Now I'm jobless. I tried to contact my former supervisor for about two weeks but still no answer. It is pathetic to say this, but I officially self-declared myself to be jobless now. I tried to get another job soon. I already applied for tutor position and still waiting.

Who doesn't? Did we have duty free books?

The books are too expensive. One subject is about 200 USD and use it for 3 month minus the exam weeks and other, it just about 7 weeks. 30 dol per weeks or 15 dolar per class. That's expensive for us. But we came out with some economical solution. Either rent the books or buy the ebook and share it among 5 people. Excellent!!

Tonight will be the last night of Ramadhan. The last terawih for this year. I really hope to meet another Ramadhan next year.

Happy Eidfitri everyone. This year, I will celebrate it in Orgo and cell bio class. Nevermind, that's a pricless experience is it? (I tried to think as positive as I can). Or maybe this will be some sort of practice so that I will not be so sad when have to celebrate eid in my wife's kampung later... Haha...

Dear Turkish,

I know that you can live with your own language, you can't build a develop country with you own language unlike Malaysia. However, now I'm here at your Istanbul International Aiport, can't do several thing that easily been done when you used English. I would like to subcribe for internet here (TTNet Wifi) but I can't do it as I do not understand the instruction. Yes, you provide the subscription page with English translation, but I can't find any in your FAQ page and How To Use page. (I think I got the link correctly. Sorry I Don't understand it). I also can't understand your menu except several familiar word like nugget and etc. I am currently at the international departure hall, so using of English language is proper.. I'm not writing this as to offense anyone, just writing my concern. I been here twice already.

By the time this post is published, I already leaving Istanbul. Once again, I did not want to offend anyone, but just writing my thought.

of Kosher Meal and 10 hours flight....

I book a flight from an online agent Priceline.com from JFK to MAS. As I did not know which airline that I will be in at first, I request for special meals. My friend who bought Cathay Pacific Flight choose Moslem meal. However, this online agent did not have that option. So, I decided to take Kosher Meal at last.

So when I board the Turkish flight to Istanbul 3 month ago, they did not have that special meal i guess because nothing about the special meal mention by the crew. Then when I board the MAS flight, they gave me the special meal ticket. I was like I boarding a Muslim Airliner and I will eat kosher food. I did not offense or doesn't like the kosher food, but as a Muslim, Halal food should be first priority. Luckily the steward was concern about that matter and I ask him to cancel the kosher meal option. I was relieve as I can enjoy the delicious meal in the plane. Yes, MAS airline provide you with delicious meal, at least, the most delicious one that you can get when you are at 40000 feet above the sea level. Case resolved.

Then, yesterday when I was at the KLIA airport to check in, the attendant there ask me to confirm that I ask for the special meals. She said, it can't be canceled anymore. Then, I think I can't cancel it on the plane as I did before. However, I CAN'T. Can you imagine I eat meals that is pack for last long, they freeze it and reheat it when they want to give it to me. The meals can last till 2012, so it like an instant food, without preservative anfd other. The more interesting fact is the person next to you eat the delicious Halal Nasi Lemak and Nasi Minyak. How depress I am. I really don't mind if those food is not Halal and I got the Kosher food, but it is the other way round.

Now, I already in Turkish Airline Plane, and I hope they would give me the usual food that I used to eat 3 month ago. Who knows I got another Kosher Meal box again.

I did not fast during the travel because the facts that I would fast almost 20 to 22 hours before I can break fast. This due to the time in USA which is late 12 hours than Malaysia.

Happy Independence Day, Malaysia.

I hope the peaceful life here in Malaysia will sustain forever. I am glad to live in this peaceful country, or shall I say physically not in war, but mentally we did.

Try to read the newspaper tomorrow. I did not receive any Early Edition like Eddie( I think I got the name right), but I predict that there are news about youngster doing something that would not represent them as citizen of Malaysia, which had gained independence 53 years ago. We are still been colonize mentally by the ego, selfishness, and conservative thinking.

I did not state this without facts. Try to see this album and make your own conclusion. 9 month sharing the same food, blood, and even body, still can't give this mom a brain to think, a heart to love the baby.

I did not state this as a random guess. What should you expect when you hear motorcycle sound from your house at 2 AM in the morning. It's not a normal sound I hear everyday. It just on a special night, like this so called Malam Merdeka

I did not state this to offense the people about my age, but sometimes I felt sorry, to see even my own friend actions.

I also did not state this to say I'm good enough, or did not do anything wrong. Yes, I did many mistakes, and I regret. Even it already late as those will continue to be my dark memory, but better late than never.

I'm not perfect. I just want to remind.

Life in America: Introduction

This is a new category that I would like to create in this blog. In this series of post, I would like to share mostly about my experience in USA. I am currently a student in Rochester Institute of Technology, New York, USA, majoring in Biotechnology and most probably will do minor in Business Administration.

This series is created as a guidance or sharing experience to the people out there of my life in USA. I also hope this post may increase the excitement of student who would probably going study abroad, especially in USA.

This series will be in full English, as I think the people who read this is coming from different background, and English is the proper language I guess. However, I hope readers would not mind if there are any grammatical errors, as I still in a process of learning English and write a good English. This also might be one of the ways for me to improve my English.

I hate to say Goodbye...

I hate it when I have to say goodbye to my Family and friends here.

I hate it when I have to say goodbye to futsal for another year.

I hate it when I have to say goodbye to deepest sleep after sahur.

I hate it when I have to say goodbye to 4-more-day summer hols.

I hate it when I have to say goodbye to the Prelude...

But the facts that those feeling would not change anything, yet I had mentally prepared that I will go back to US no matter what. However, I am physically not. I did not buy anything that I would want to bring to US. Maybe in next 2 or 3 days.

Finally, I can say the holidays is over. I already been in place that I never went before and had great time there. However, I also doesn't have chance to meet several person and also go to places that I want to go. So, I guess meeting those person and that several places will be thrown into my bucket list for next year.

Tak sempat nak jumpa 2 budak gemok nie....hehe

And Mr Kamal too, don't worry, I'll meet you someday.

This holiday also teach me a lot of things. As the time goes by, we surely do experience and learn, give and take, get and forget, but the most important thing is we changes for the best. Although stalking and facebooking were the thing that I did almost every single day, but I get something from that too. At least I know what happen to others. Anyway, I hope those happy moment, will happened to me again sooner or later.

Never forget, don't regrets...=)

After all, this summer holiday, will be a holiday that worth to remember. A lot of things happened, and I am happy with it.

Ni lagi satu permainan waktu kecik yang aku rase lenyap ditelan arus pembangunan. Sebab dia 2D saje, mane boleh challenge PSP dan setaraf zaman sekarang kan. Seingat aku, aku tak pernah ada benda nie, tapi aku melibatkan diri secara langsung jugak dalam permainan ni. Pinjam kawan aku punya sapa ade lebih, then bagi makan dlu monster tuh, tak bagi makan mati kang. Then battle, tekan laju-laju. Sebelum battle kena cantum dulu Digivice ni, baru boleh battle. Sekarang da tak jumpa da.

Sapa ingat brick game ni? Kalau dulu aku tengok ada orang nangis nangis lagi suruh ayat beli benda ni kan. Nampak macam berbaloi ade 9999 game dalam 1 tapi realitinya aku rasa sikit jek. Tengok kecik-kecik kita da kena kelentong dek game nie. Kalau brick nie aku paling suka main lumba kereta tiga lane tu, dengan susun brick. Dan memang 2 game ni je yang aku ingat. Haha.

Gameboy ni popular waktu aku tengah darjah 6. Game yang awesome selalu aku main game motocross. Memang siap boleh buat backflip apa suma lagi. Waktu nie zaman kegemilangan main pokemon gitu. For sure bukan aku punya kan, tapi aktiviti pinjam meminjam biasa la kan. Haha. GBA pulak keluar waktu aku da nak masok F1 kot. GBA ni ade improvement dri segi nak pegang macam controller game sikit kan. Aku main yang game boy color, yang biasa dwicolor tu aku tak pernah main. Game ni nak main kena ade tape game, ala-ala Polystation tuh. Haha.

Ini another game yang memang hilang la kan. Bukan PLAYSTATION tapi POLYSTATION. Hehe. Game popular adalah game Mario. Memang best. Da lama jugak aku tak main mario ni. Satu lagi game best adalah game tembak-tembak burung tuh. smpai kdg sentuh skrin TV nk tmbak. Punyalah dekatnya kan. Tapi benda nie selalunya tak kekal lame. Dengan aku adik beradik 5 org bergadoh nak main, mmg ade je tangan-tangan gatal baling benda tunjuk tak puas hati. Waktu tu sume tak matang lagi kan. Haha. Tapu agak bes sebenarnya main benda nie.
